About Us

Mission Statement.

We document and imagine.
We listen and interpret and translate.
This is theatre for us and you.

For the people that get left out of the story books,
For the Nine to Five and the routine,
And for fantasy, and imagination,
And all the wonderful things that just haven’t happened yet.

This is theatre that takes life as it is.
That doesn’t sugarcoat or mock.
Theatre that glories in the little absurdities of real life.

A Director’s Note.

No Added Sugar was formed earlier this year by me and eight of the kindest and most hard working theatre makers I know. We want to make the theatre that we love to watch, to see beautiful stories, talented performers and great music.

Our first project is Three Words an original piece of theatre that reclaims love from Hollywood and puts it back in the hands of ordinary people. The show features our real life experiences from discussions, interviews and stories only half remembered. Some of it is completely true, some bits we needed to reconstruct, others are stupid, silly or irresponsible.

We wanted to have fun telling the stories that matter to real people, to demonstrate that you don’t have to live in L.A or a New York penthouse to have a story worth telling, in fact you could be, as we are, from Lincolnshire or anywhere really. We hope when you come to see our show (Three Words, 27th May, Lincoln Performing Arts Centre, tickets £5, subtle plug) you will have just as much fun as we do making it, laughing and singing along. As we nine very different people try to make one very different show.

If you have any stories you think might fit or would like to contribute or find out more about us you can tweet us @noaddedsugartc find us on Facebook.com/noaddedsugartheatre or send us an e-mail to noaddedsugartheatre@gmail.com
